Soundness of Core Strategy in relation to draft NPPF

The Government published the consultation draft National Planning Policy Framework(NPPF) on 25th July 2011. The Inspector carrying out the West Berkshire Core Strategy Examination has asked that the Council request views on the soundness of the Core Strategy in relation to the draft NPPF.
The draft NPPF can be viewed from the supporting documents tab below. Further details are available on the Communities and Local Government website. Consultation on this draft has recently closed.
This consultation is taking place alongside consultation on further proposed changes to the Core Strategy and on the implications for the Core Strategy of the Council's revised Sustainability Appraisal/ Strategic Environmental Assessment (SA/SEA). Any comments on those consultations should be submitted separately.
This part of the consultation asks only for your views on the implications of the draft NPPF for the Core Strategy. The Core Strategy document published for the purpose of this consultation is the latest version (Nov 2011) which incorporates proposed changes. The introductory section explains how these changes are identified in the text.
You will need to be registered to submit comments. If you have previously submitted comments on the Core Strategy you will already have a username. If you do not know your username or need any help using the system please contact planning policy.
