Examination Proposed Focused Changes

West Berkshire Council submitted its Core Strategy and accompanying Proposals Maps as part of its Local Development Framework (LDF) to the Secretary of State on 9th July 2010. The Core Strategy is the lead document within the LDF and sets out the Council’s vision, objectives and spatial planning strategy for the District.
The Examination into the Core Strategy commenced on submission of the document and hearings were held by an independent Planning Inspector in November 2010. Following the hearings the Examination was suspended to allow the Council to carry out further work.
The Council has published a further schedule of proposed changes to the submitted Core Strategy. These changes were subject to a consultation period running for 6 weeks from 4th February until 18th March 2011. In addition to the proposed changes the Council also published a number of supporting documents which can be viewed on the Council's website on the LDF Core Strategy Changes Consultation page. The Schedule of Proposed Minor Changes can be found on the Core Strategy Examination page of the Council's website and a full version of the Core Strategy incorporating both proposed minor and focused changes can also be found on the website at the above link.
Comments received on the Proposed Focused Changes will be considered alongside the submitted Core Strategy by the Planning Inspector when the Examination resumes in the spring. The Proposed Focused Changes are highlighted in yellow in the document. These are the changes on which the Council was consulting. More minor changes are shown in the text and are published separately as a schedule of minor changes.
We are now processing the comments received. All comments which relate to a specific highlighted focused change will be made available to view within the document below. Comments which did not relate to a specific focused change will not be published within this consultation portal but will be submitted to the Inspector who is carrying out the Examination into the Core Strategy.
