Further Inspector Proposed Focused Change

Following the resumed hearings into the West Berkshire Core Strategy in June 2010 the Inspector issued a note setting out the soundness issues arising from the hearings. This consultation relates to a change to Policy ADPP5: North Wessex Downs Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, which the Inspector has said is required for soundness. The Council has suggested alternative wording which is also set out within the document.
This consultation is taking place alongside consultation on further examination proposed changes to the Core Strategy, on the implications for the Core Strategy of the Council's revised Sustainability Appraisal/ Strategic Environmental Assessment (SA/SEA) and on the implications for the Core Strategy of the Government's draft National Planning Policy Framework (NPPF). Any comments on those consultations should be submitted separately.
This part of the consultation asks only for your comments on the further Inspector Proposed Focused Change. The change on which we are consulting is highlighted in the document. More minor changes are shown in the text and will be published separately as a schedule of minor changes.
The Core Strategy document published to accompany this consultation, which can be downloaded from the supporting documents tab, is the latest version (Nov 2011) which incorporates proposed changes. The introductory section explains how these changes are identified in the text.
