Site Selection Sustainability Appraisal
Previous consultation and work undertaken on the production of the Core Strategy
has shown a general consensus for locating most new development in and around
the larger urban areas of the district. All potential allocated sites must be
assessed through the Sustainability Appraisal (SA). The SA will be used to help
compare the sustainability aspects of a site, and to identify areas whereby
mitigation could be implemented. In order to carry out this appraisal we have
drawn up a site selection framework for assessing potential development sites
and we are seeking your views on its effectiveness and suitability.
